The IFC membership meets internally every two years to share approaches, tools, strategies, skills, and lessons learned firsthand and help our member agencies improve their instream flow and water level conservation effectiveness.
The central themes of this year’s meeting are member presentations and discussions around the IFWLC Training Center and IFC support for developing the Center:
- How has the IFC helped me to improve my job skills and program effectiveness? How can IFC help me going forward?
- What is Water Level Conservation? What opportunities might exist in my state to implement water level conservation?
- What is the future of the Instream Flow and Water Level Conservation Training, Research, and Development Center and deciding on IFC’s role?
Meeting Objectives
- Problem solving through networking with our one-on-one membership expertise.
- Provide an opportunity for member agencies to present successes, challenges, and problems with flows and water level conservation.
- Explore opportunities for improving integration of IFC participation in agency instream flow and water level conservation and related initiatives.
- Participate in training on state-of-the-art instream flow and water level conservation techniques and approaches in the eight elements (science, public involvement, legal and institutional elements).
This meeting will include a welcome reception, member agency presentations, regional meetings, networking with colleagues, field trip on coastal river project, and a banquet. Presentations will be posted after the meeting.
The more IFC member attendees that participate, the better the learning and benefits to IFC as a whole and each member. We encourage each of you to plan to attend and bring others from your agency that are involved in instream flow and water level management conservation.
