"State of the Art" Papers

The FLOW 2008 conference includes (Tuesday afternoon) a panel discussion on the "State of the Art" in instream/environmental flow science, policy, and public dialogue, respectively. The panelists and moderator have prepared papers in advance that will be briefly overviewed at the conference and submitted as a “featured collection” to the Journal of the American Water Resources Association after the conference.

So that conference participants can obtain maximum benefit from the papers prior to the opportunity to discuss them with the authors/panelists, we are posting them here in advance and encouraging conference attendees to explore them and consider their own ideas about the “State of the Art” and the challenges to getting there.

Thank you to Brian Richter, Geoffrey Petts, Larry MacDonnell, and Mark Smith for their hard work and insights in preparing these papers. We hope they are helpful to conference registrants in their making the most of the opportunities provided by FLOW 2008.
